The roses and the fruit tree grafings from Szőreg, are produced in a very unique part of the Hungarian Great Plain, at the fork of the rivers Tisza and Maros. The outstanding quality of the plants produced here, originates partially from the local traditions of nursery production - looking back to more than one hundred years - and partially from the extremely favourable climatic and soil conditions of the area. The Szőregi Virág-Dísznöveny ÁFÉSZ is a privately owned cooperative firm, founded in 1967 by 34 independent grower, in order to promote horticultural production and marketing of the goods produced by its members. The main activity of the ÁFÉSZ is still the coordination of the production, the sales of the nursery goods produced, as wholesaler and as retailer or exporter. The main products are rose bushes and standard roses (high-stemmed ones), fruit tree gratiings and ornamental plants. You can rely on us, if you were about to decorate your environment either with roses continuously flowering from Spring to Autumn, ornamental trees, bushes, evergreens and conifers or fruit trees. Our fruit tree gratiings will develop into healthy and fertile trees and they will supply you and your family with abundant crop for decades.

Our firm is the biggest rose producer of Hungary, we have 270 members. They produce about 2.5 million rose plants a year. We have been cooperating with most of the major rose breeders of Europe and the sole distributors of Meilland, in Hungary, since 2004.

There are a small Gardeners' Shop and a Nursery Store at our central site above the offices. The Gardeners' Shop supplies the special needs of our members. We also have a storage and packing base, just outside Szőreg, where 2000 m² of cold storage area serves the smooth supply of plants from the beginning of September to end of March. The packing plant has the same amount of area.

Around 60-65 per cent of the overall return from sales comes from the exported goods, and only 35-40 percent from the local market. Some 80-90 per cent of the sales are given by the rose plants. We export all over Europe from Spain to Russia and from Finnland to Greece.
